Mitchell's close friend Angela lost her life in a tragic car accident at the age of fifteen years old. Mitchell was devastated by this and wrote the song Angel for Angela on her debut album. Mitchell also spoke about her experience within Chicken Soup, for Preteen Souls as well as 7th Heaven: Nothing Endures But Change.
